Some spring breakers on their way to breakfast in Blue Mountain Beach, Florida (neat Ft. Walton Beach, in the Panhandle) spotted a beach house on fire and acted fast to save the people inside.
Ford Cleveland and Porter Simpler noticed the flames and called 911, then banged on the door and got everyone outside safely. The teens also ran to the house next door, where a group of their fellow high school students were staying, and got them outside, too.
The fire became so big, it eventually burned that house as well. Investigators aren’t sure what caused the blaze, but suspect a gas leak could be to blame. Montgomery Fire and Rescue Department gave these life saving guys a shout out on social media, praising them for their hard work and suggesting they could make a career out of saving others. Cleveland and Simpler say they were just in the right place at the right time.
Well, thank God for that!
