Have you seen the "Jesus Lizards?"

We sure do have a lot to worry about here in the Sunshine State. We get hurricanes, gators, plenty of Florida Man stories, and now we have Jesus Lizards. Oh, lord.

According to Fox 13 News, an invasive, non-native species of lizard has been found in Florida, and they're referred to as "Jesus Lizards" due to their ability to run on top of water!

The lizards are native to South and Central America, but folks in Florida have bought them as pets. These lizards have either escaped or been set free, and are now multiplying. They are damaging to our ecosystem because they eat native wildlife, including butterflies and other types of lizards (although they also eat mosquitoes, so can they really be all bad?)

FWC is requesting that if you see one of these "Jesus Lizards"--actual name Brown Basilisk lizard--please upload a photo on a state-run app called "IveGot1."
