Back in 2018, Florida passed a law prohibiting dog racing; that law was to take effect on December 31st of this year..but because of Coronavirus, race tracks are closed, and now there are over 1500 greyhounds in Florida who are in need of foster homes or forever homes!
If you have room in your home and heart for a greyhound, they are a GREAT breed, and surprisingly mellow. Yes, they need room to run, but they actually spend a lot of their day lounging and sleeping. They're friendly and have a great temperament, too! And even if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster!
There are several greyhound rescues in Florida, and when you foster one, they'll come up to date with all their vaccinations, a bed, food, leash, and collar..you just provide the love!
