Following the lead of Tampa and Clearwater, more beaches throughout Tampa Bay are closing due to COVID-19.
Spring breakers have been largely ignoring the governor's order not to congregate in large groups, so our local officials have responded by closing public beaches in Sarasota, Manatee, and Pinellas Counties.
Pinellas County has voted to close ALL public beaches and parking starting midnight on Friday -- overriding Clearwater Beach, which was set to close Monday. This also includes St Pete Beaches.
Beaches in Manatee County will close to the public starting at 6 a.m. Friday and Sarasota's beaches will close Saturday morning.
