When San Diego police officer Andre Thomas was called to check out a stolen car last month, he didn’t find the thief -- but he did find a new friend, an abandoned dog in the back seat.
Andre took the frightened yellow Lab to the local Humane Society, hoping its owners would reclaim the dog. Three weeks went by and nobody came to retrieve the dog.
So, Andre headed back to the shelter and adopted the dog -- and the two have been best friends ever since! Turns out, Officer Thomas had recently said goodbye to his dog, and felt that meeting this one was fate bringing them together!
Shout out to that officer for giving a pup a forever home!
