I'll state for the record that I've been a huge fan of Garth Brooks since I was a kid. His music, his attitude, his philanthropy, and legacy as an artist are all unmatched, and he literally changed the sound of country music when he entered the scene in the 90s. He certainly was a deserving winner last week when he took home the CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year...although you could make an argument that ALL of the nominees were deserving! I was personally rooting for either Carrie Underwood or Eric Church to win, but hey... 7400 CMA members voted, and Garth was the winner.
That all being said, it seems like Eric Church is pretty disappointed by the way that cookie crumbled too! I mean, if you're nominated for an award, of course you want to win, but most artists don't express their disappointment verbally.
Earlier this week, at a show in Washington DC, the Chief changed the words to his song, "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way," to "I know Garth didn't do it this way."
SHOTS FIRED!!
What do we think about this?! Video below.
