103-year-old woman wins TWO gold medals

I definitely don't consider myself a runner, and there's no doubt in my mind that 103-year-old Julia Hawkins could absolutely trounce me in a race.

She just won double gold at the 2019 Senior Games in Albuquerque. She took the top prize in women's 50 meter and 100 meter for her age group...and that's not even her best time. Two years ago, she set a record in the 100 meter dash...one that has yet to be broken.

Here's what's even more amazing: She didn't start running until her 100th birthday.

She attributes her health and longevity to lots of physical activity, but that doesn't necessarily mean a load of exercise.

“I just keep busy. I keep moving,” Hawkins said of her longevity. “I don’t do any exercises particularly. I used to, but I don’t think I need to anymore.”

“I’ve always been careful how I eat, eat healthy and keep my weight at a certain point,” she added.

What an inspiration!
