I thought it was pretty common knowledge that you're not supposed to drink bleach, but in case I'm mistaken: YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO DRINK BLEACH. IT WILL MAKE YOU SICK AND COULD POSSIBLY KILL YOU.
That being said, some moron claiming to be an archbishop is posting videos to YouTube telling people that drinking bleach cures certain conditions, including malaria, cancer, and autism...and people are believing it. The videos have been viewed over 2 million times, and are responsible for at least two deaths.
First of all, be super skeptical of someone on the internet claiming to have a cure for disease. Don't trust anyone. Secondly, if you're a parent, this just illustrates the importance of monitoring what your children are watching (although it seems to be mostly adults doing it).
The videos describe a "miracle mineral solution" that's mixed together from various household chemicals, readily available at any hardware store. When mixed, the "solution" is chlorine dioxide--industrial bleach--which is then consumed. Medical authorities warn that drinking bleach can cause nausea, vomiting and severe dehydration if ingested.
YouTube is working to have the videos removed, but there's no way to tell exactly how many there are.
