This is NUTS. It's hard enough for me to imagine having a baby without ever knowing I was pregnant, but this takes it to a whole new level!
18-year-old Ebony Stevenson had no idea she was pregnant when she went to bed feeling unwell. She was taken to hospital after suffering a series of seizures where medics discovered she was expecting. Her unborn baby had been hidden in one of two wombs, in a rare condition called uterus didelphys. She had a baby in one womb, while the other still functioned normally, and she never missed a period! WHAT?!
She was placed into a medically induced coma to combat her seizures. Doctors realized they needed to deliver the baby while she was in the coma and when she woke up four days later, she learned she had given birth to a healthy baby girl. Due to the weight of the baby, doctors believe Stevenson actually carried the baby to full-term.
Can you imagine going to the hospital for illness, basically being knocked out for 4 days, and then waking up to have someone stick a baby in your arms and tell you it's yours?! I think it would be really hard to have an emotional attachment to that baby, considering she wasn't planning for it and had no idea she was pregnant. She has decided to keep the baby, and is actually happy to be a mom, but WOW.
