Being sedentary is worse for you than smoking!

Here's your daily reminder: go to the gym!

A new study has revealed that being sedentary is pretty much the worst thing you can do for your health. Worse than diabetes, heart disease, or smoking. Wow!

The findings were based on the study of 122,007 patients who went through testing at Ohio's Cleveland Clinic over the course of 23 years, between 1991 and 2014.

'Being unfit ... has a worse prognosis, as far as death, than being hypertensive, being diabetic or being a current smoker,' Cleveland Clinic cardiologist and senior study author Dr. Wael Jaber told CNN.

Breaking down the results, researchers found that people with sedentary lifestyles had 500 per cent higher risk associated with death than those categorized as being top exercise performers.

The good news is, you don't have to kill yourself in the gym for two hours a day to see health benefits. Doctors say that taking a walk, riding your bike, and even playing with your kids is beneficial. Try to make it a priority to get physical activity in your day at least 3 times a week.
