Man loses limbs after being licked by dog

This is unbelievable. And terrifying. And I feel so bad for this man!

A Wisconsin man has lost his hands, feet, part of his arms and legs, and almost his nose after being licked by a dog.

Yes. Licked by a dog.

He went to the hospital thinking he had a bad case of the flu, but doctors soon found he'd contracted a rare blood infection called Capnocytophaga, which is commonly found in the saliva of domestic dogs and cats. It rarely ever causes humans to get sick; this was just one of those medical anomalies that has left this poor man an amputee with a long road ahead of him.

Doctors say this is extremely rare, and the overwhelming majority of people will never experience an infection like this.
