A study out of the UK ha found that workers are more productive when they work 4 days instead of 5. This schedule helps employees find a better work/life balance, and it doesn't require the company to sacrifice productivity!
What studies have found is that, when workers know they're about to have a long weekend, the really buckle down and work hard to be sure all their loose ends are tied up...meaning they cram 5 days of work into 4, so they can enjoy that extra day off! The same amount of work gets done, but in less time!
Plus, the employees are happy because they have more time to spend with friends and family, relax, take care of tasks around the house, and generally enjoy life.
So bring this up to your boss today, and let us know how it goes! If I could work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days, I'd do it in a heartbeat!
