There are only 4 known surviving pairs of ruby slippers, the iconic sparkly red shoes worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz, from 1939. Back in 2005, one of these pairs of shoes was stolen from the Judy Garland Museum in Minnesota.
For the past 13 years, investigators have been totally stumped...the thief left behind chards of glass and a single red sequin...and nothing else.
Well, after years of investigating, the FBI (yes, the FBI) has announced that the shoes have been located and will be returned to the Garland Museum!
The slippers are one of several pairs that were custom made for the movie. Another pair is jointly-owned by Leonardo DiCaprio and film director Steven Spielberg and is on display at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
