A Bradenton toddler who lost both of his legs is fighting back from his injury, and he needs your help!
Colton Lawson was on his family's tractor with his father when he slipped and fell, and had a terrible accident. Colton, who is only 2 years old, was rushed to the emergency room after losing both of his legs in the accident. He has already had six surgeries, and spent two weeks in the ICU at Tampa General Hospital, but his parents, Chris and April, say that many more surgeries will be needed as Colton grows.
According to the Lawsons, Colton will need surgery on his legs multiple times a year as he grows, which means a lot of financial stress, a lot of time away from home and school, and a lot of physical therapy.
Chris and April say that Colton is doing well, fighting hard, and has been smiling through the pain.
The Sarasota-Bradenton community is supporting the family. Evie's in Sarasota is hosting a benefit on August 11 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event includes live entertainment, mini golf, golf cart raffle and silent auction.
Walt's Fish Market in Sarasota has raised more than $3,000 for the family. The staff has teamed up with Big Storm Brewing Company. A special beer will be sold at Walt's Fish Market benefiting the family. Walt's Fish Market will start selling Big Storm's beer on Saturday.
If you would like to help Colton and his family financially, a Go Fund Me site has been set up. A link to the family's Go Fund Me page can be found here.
Thank you to all who are able to help!
