Elections Official Urges Against Mailing In Ballot This Late In The Game

Palm Beach County's Supervisor of Elections said on Thursday afternoon that 51 percent of all registered voters in the county had already cast their ballots. During an update from the county, Wendy Sartory Link said those ballots included 348,000 votes-by-mail and 179,000 at early voting sites.

She says at this point, elections officials are recommending that you don't mail out your ballot because it must be at the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on election day.

"We do have 29 total places that you can drop your ballot...our four offices, plus our early voting locations."

Link said there are drop-off vans located at all but one of the early voting sites, as well as eight additional locations through Sunday.

Mail-in ballots may be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 25 locations and 24/7 at the four elections supervisor's offices, where the drop boxes are always monitored.

After that, if you want to drop off a mail-in ballot you have to do it by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Election Day, at the main office in suburban West Palm Beach or 5 p.m. at her three other offices.

Link reminds you that if you want to vote on election day, you must do it at your precinct.
