Broward School Board Holds Last Special Meeting Before Start Of School

The Broward School Board holding its last special meeting to discuss next week's virtual start of school. Board member Lori Alhadeff says they're focusing on how students will be logging in to their remote classrooms and taking lunch breaks. She says even though there are A.M. and P.M. shifts for learning, and the teacher will be teaching live classes, students will not be required to be sitting in front of a computer all day. She says the goal is to reopen schools and bring sports back in October, but Broward's COVID-19 positivity rate has to be 5-percent or less for two weeks straight.
