Tennis Star Coco Gauff Among Protesters In Delray Beach On Wednesday

A protest was held in Delray Beach, one of many across the nation this week in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

As most of the ones in Palm Beach County, this one remained peaceful as protesters marched along Atlantic Avenue, carrying signs and yelling slogans.

Delray Beach Police officers marched alongside protestors.

In the front of the group, side-by-side with community organizers who planned the march was Delray Beach Police Chief Javaro Sims.

Following a march from Pompey Park, protestors marched to City Hall to hear a series of speakers calling for change.

They included teenage tennis star and local resident Coco Gauff, calling for change.

"It's in your hands to vote for my future, for my brother's future and for your future."

At one point, protesters laid down at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and AIA, in a demonstration that wrapped up before nightfall.
