Hackers Get Personal Information on 58,000 Florida Voters

TAMPA -- A number of voters in one Florida county are victims of a hack directed at an elections office. As many as 58,000 voters in Hillsborough County are affected.

The Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections office says an unauthorized user accessed and copied files containing social security numbers, driver license numbers, and other personal information. Most of the affected files are used to maintain and prune voter rolls.

The SOE office says voter registration and ballot tabulation systems were not accessed. Voters affected will receive notification letters.
