Broward School Board OK's Separation Agreement With Superintendent Runcie

The Broward School Board green lights a 740-thousand-dollar separation agreement with embattled Superintendent Robert Runcie. Runcie is resigning with a 90-day notice period beginning today, so he will continue on as an employee until August 10th, 2021. District Attorney Walter Harvey says Runcie will not serve in the Superintendent position, but he will be on hand to help transition his replacement. The money covers 20 weeks' severance, sick-vacation-medical and pension payments along with his legal fees. Runcie has pleaded not guilty to a felony perjury charge stemming from the grand jury investigation of the Parkland massacre.
