TECO Gives Customers A Break Over Coronavirus

TAMPA -- A Bay area utility offers a break to its customers whose incomes are potentially impacted by coronavirus

In a tweet, Tampa Electric says it is suspending disconnections for non-payment at least through the end of March.

The company says it understands this may be "a difficult time" for some of its customers. TECO People's Gas, which provides gas over a large area of Florida, made a similar statement.

Tampa Electric serves all of Hillsborough County, as well as Oldsmar, Dade City, Winter Haven and Auburndale.
