Disney is launching a streaming service

Y'all, I love the classic Disney movies. Aladdin, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast...they're MY JAM! But I personally find it SUPER ANNOYING that I--a paying customer--can't walk into a Target and purchase said movies any time I want. If you didn't know, Disney does this weird thing where they open "the vault" and occasionally release old movies for purchase for a limited time. There's no rhyme or reason to when they do this (not that I can see, anyway), and once they close "the vault," that's it. You can't buy these movies anymore. So if you're in your 30s and grew up with these movies, and now you have kids and you want them to watch the movies too...forget it! Unless "the vault" opens, you're out of luck. Too bad, so sad.

UNTIL NOW! Well, until soon. Disney is about to launch its own streaming service, called Disney+ (plus), where every single Disney title for nearly 100 years will be available for streaming. All the classic Disney animations, plus Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and more...for a fee, of course. And word has it that they'll stop using "the vault" to sell movies on DVD. This will be the only place where Disney movies will be available to stream, so if you want to watch, you'll have to fork over the cash!

Approximately 7000 episodes and 500 movies will be available to stream. No word yet on the price structure, but we're guessing it'll be priced similarly to Netflix and Hulu. There will be no R-Rated films on Disney+; those will go to Hulu, of which Disney owns 30% stake.

If you've noticed that all of the original Marvel shows on Netflix have been disappearing, or getting canceled...this is why. They'll migrate over to Disney+. More HERE.
