General manager for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jason Licht, joined WDAE’s The Sports Page this morning to talk about next week’s draft.
When asked if there is any way to know what picks are going to be made before the Bucs’ No. 7 draft pick, Licht shares that you can talk to sources and listen around the league but you can never really know what is going to happen.
“There are always surprises,” Licht said. “It never falls the way you think it is going to fall so you have to be ready for a number of scenarios.”
Licht is then asked if the Bucs’ top ten draft picks are in ink or if there are still changes to be made.
“We are pretty good on the top ten,” Licht said. “That will be in ink at least by this weekend.”
Rick and Tom then asked Licht if he would feel comfortable starting next season with Josh McCown and Mike Glennon as the top two quarterbacks if the Bucs do not take a quarterback in the draft.
“We aren’t going to rule anything out, but I’m on the same page with Lovie,” Licht said. “Especially after mini-camp, we are comfortable with Josh (McCown), Mike (Glennon) and Mike (Kafka).”
