The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the signing of free agent long snapper Andrew DePaola and the waiving of cornerback Anthony Gaitor.
Gaitor, a Miami native, was drafted by the Bucs in the seventh round (222nd overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft and played in 12 games (two starts) for Tampa Bay over the course of his first two seasons (2011-12).
Last August, Gaitor was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL, thus ending his 2013 campaign before it even began.
DePaola was an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 2012 and signed a futures contract with the Buccaneers in January 2013.
DePaola will compete with Jeremy Cain to replace long-time LS Andrew Economos, who was not re-signed by the Bucs after eight years with the team.
