Clearwater, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-The Pinellas County Commission has fired County Administrator Bob LaSala.  The vote was unanimous.

The decision to let LaSala go comes a week after six of the seven commissioners had mixed evaluations of the administrator's job performance.  Commissioners thought LaSala's style was a little too abrasive and led to a high worker turnover rate.

Since the decision to fire LaSala was without cause, the 64 year-old New Yorker will get 20 weeks pay and benefits as severance.  LaSala will also be paid for left over vacation and sick time.  LaSala's salary was almost $232,000 per year.

LaSala has been county administrator since 2009.
